We slipped away on the last weekend in July for a last-minute retreat sponsored by Chris' Battalion Chaplain. It was held at the Chateau Elan, located north of Atlanta. It was amazing!!! The Chateau is a winery and fine hotel with spa. We got to enjoy the hotel part! The rooms were gorgeous, the food was awesome and we only had to attend two quick seminars by the Chaplain hosting! On Friday, when we got there, we checked in and then headed to the swimming pool. I was hoping for a refreshing dip... but the pool was heated and it was less than refreshing. Oh well! The kids had a ball!
Saturday morning, after the seminar, we took the kids to a huge mall that had a Lego store!! They were so excited! They all LOVE Legos and it was definitely Lego heaven! The mall also had an indoor Skate park, an indoor Mini Golf Course, and Medieval Times!! It was HUGE!! We also went to the theater there and saw Despicable Me! which was hilarious!! If you haven't seen it yet, it's well worth the trip!! It was a great day!
Sunday, we attended the last bit of seminar and then took our time checking out and heading home. It was a great weekend and we didn't want it to end!! Here are some pictures:
