Gurosik's Strawberry Farm

On the 16th, we took a field trip with our fun homeschool group to Gurosik's Strawberry Farm. It was a fabulous field trip and we just LOVE picking fresh strawberries! Yummers! We got their early and took some photos while we waited for everyone to arrive. Once we were all there, the tour guide started us out with a trip to the berry patch where we each filled a container with sweet strawberries. Then we split up and went to feed their catfish in the pond. It was crazy! You could have walked across on catfish there were so many!! That was cool. Then they took us to visit one of their beehives. They make fresh honey there too and we got to taste some. Very good! After that, we went back tot he picnic tables and they served us a strawberry slush made with real, unsweetened strawberry juice and ice! Very sweet!! The tour was over and we went into the farm market to buy some fresh produce: baby red potatoes, asparagus, peppers, peach and pecan fritters, squash... good stuff! It was a perfect day to go out and visit the farm and I just know we'll be back for more fresh fruits and veggies!

Jilli was still not awake...

but when we told her about the strawberries... She perked right up!
